Named after my great-grandmother, Margaret, who loved to cook, bake, and share her home, I have grown up deeply valuing the art of homemaking for the sake of blessing others. Now, as a young military spouse living on an army base, I have seen more than ever the valuable opportunity I have to nurture my home to be a place of comfort & rest. Even more, in the midst of an uncertain, anxious world, I have seen the importance of nurturing my heart to see gratitude in the little things of life— observing a flower while listening to birdsong, lighting candles scattered around my home, sitting beside a friend while we read. I have come to find that there are many small joys always around — daily graces — available to us if we simply have the eyes to recognize them. Margaret’s House was born out of this passion — to nurture my home & heart to find gratitude in a small life lovingly lived. Whether it is an encouragement to lean into the simple joys as a military spouse or to bake a new dessert & share it with friends, I pray that you leave Margaret’s House with the hope that there is goodness to be found in a small life lovingly lived.
